Its all true, the boogie girl is real, and you've found her. She knits, sews, spins, does pottery and writes it all down in this blog.

On the Mattress
No jumping on the mattress!
We like the mattress.
No sleeping on it either.
It's exciting and fun. It's sure to keep you awake.
Maybe calling it fun is taking it a bit far.
But really, I love doing the mattress.
Have you caught on yet?

Look ma! No seams showing!
The slow side to side all the way up the sweater. I admit that it starts out as a bit tedious. But after the first few inches it becomes almost meditative. Back and forth, the needle goes in and out. Then tighten up the stitches. Back and forth again and again. Maybe I've lost it. Maybe I'm gleeful that I actually am at the point of seaming this sweater.
Here's the body, with neck DONE, seamed, and ends woven in. It's patiently awaiting its sleeves.
6 rows and I can start the sleeve cap. Sounds painfully slow, doesn't it? Or is it just me?
Comments:
Woo hoo! Can't wait to see the kid blanket/husbeast sweater all seamed up! You are a brave woman to take on such a project.
wahoo!! looks lovely darlinkl. So are we gonna get sexy modelled shots of teh lovebeast in there? I think it would be funny for a pic of M wearing it and you wearing it and then J. sort of a size comparison. And btw.. I'm so geeky. I love the mattress too.
Wow, the sweater looks great and even better because of your very professional looking finishing. Way to go!
Cheers,

When I was a kid I used to think my Mom was working magic when she would sew something together--Now I know it was just the mattress stitch. I love doing it too!
How exciting - looks great!
(can I be a geek with you and Anj? Mattress rocks - I think it's the "I'm almost done"ness of it)
btw - on my monitor, the stripe looks extremely fuscia. Is it really red, or do you have a bravely secure husbeast?
